Default magnaflow vs true dual , need some help

hey guys, so i cant stand how quiet my magnaflow exhaust is, its just embarrassing. i have stock manifolds and cats, i also hate my big *** magnaflow cannons( i would rather have no tips at all). so im getting arh longtubes in a few month and was wondering, should i: keep magnaflow ,get longtubes with catted y pipe and electric cutout , and do something about tips OR get arh's and tsp true duals which would be WAY cheaper lol.

so help me out guys.

i hear ya!! im not too impressed with my magnaflow as well. im cammed, longtubes, ory. i expected it to be quiet even without headers. then i added longtubes, ory and a cam and it is still pretty quiet to me. im saving up to get rid of my magnaflow for TSP Duals.

if i were you, i would keep your magnaflow and just add some longtubes and ory and see how you like it.

Just get a cut out. It's nice when you open it up, and when you want the sleeper you still have it.

my TSP Duals are on the way, it was just too quiet with the borla and a catted y-pipe. i also dont like the tips on the back of camaros ao the duals were a bonus on both counts

I have Magnaflow mufflers on my swap and they are quiet at idle but sound like Cherry Bombs when I step on in it. Real Blatty IMO.

Well i have a magnaflow exhaust and admit that it is not as loud as some, but i really think adding longtubes and a nice y. maybe not catted since extra noise does not seem to bother you. Thats the direction im taking.

Btw, have you listened to ls1sounds.com on the internet? If you go under magnaflow and click a car with headers, a y, and magnaflow...you might like what you hear

Im just not a fan of really loud exhausts. Mainly because I think that if a car sounds like it has heads and cam, it better have somes heads and somes cam

LTs + True duals = better numbers in the track
LTs+ Cat back Magnaflow= better sound (I like)

LTs+cat back+ cut-out= better sound in the street and w/cut out open = good numbers in the track

When we first got our car, it was cammed with L/Ts, Hi-flow cats, an SLP Loudmouth and it was really loud, and resonated ALOT. We just recently switched to the Magnaflow catback and i really LOVE it! Its much easier to carry on a conversation in the car, and road trips just got that much more enjoyable! At idle, and under normal driving, its got a good deep tone to it, but when you really get on it, it gets pretty loud, and doesnt resonate. Sounds SO much better in my opinion.

See how you like it with the longtubes first. They open up the exhaust a lot! And trust me loud gets old fast.

i have listened to ls1sounds and seems that the magnaflow gets very raspy without cats and for about the same price as the arh with ory, i could get arh lts with tsp TD. only thing i am concerned about is without cats is the smell and burning of the eyes i dont need my bf bitching everytime shes in my car i can handle the smell and kinda like it lol but just wondering how strong it would be.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cCzJ6ctiTI the black trans am has the lt's and tsp true duals in this video i think it sounds amazing

i honestly dont think magnaflow is raspy. I think its kind of a smooth, crisp sound. but its not really loud or intimidating. ill be replacing my magnaflow with duals.

i think im gonna go with the duals, if i dont like it ill just get a y pipe and throw the magnaflow back on and try to make dumps of the muffer cause i hate the tips.

Had true duals with dumps on my old car and honestly it got annoying. It droned like crazy on the highway and at times when I wanted it to be somewhat quiet it wasn't. The car I have now has the slp dual/dual and if I ever switch it I will probably go with magnaflow just because it isn't to loud. By the way my other had heads and cam on it which made a difference a little

I went from true duals to the mufflex 4" and magnaflow muffler, and it sounds great. The pipe dumps behind the bumper, so you can't see any exhaust. So if anyone wants some duals with xr-1 bullet mufflers, I have one to sell

my vote is for TD's.
1. cheaper
2. lighter (i think)
3. louder
4. better sound/tone
5. flows much better/more hp
6. ****** badass

only reason i wouldnt do it is if you are lowered. which i never understood why do that to an f body. handling isnt its strong point. they are made to go fast in a straight line... IMO of course

but its your money do what you want
