ive owned a cpl awesome mustangs with rebuilt titles- what ive found is it only affets the value to 50% pf the buyers -ie 50% of the buyer simply avoid them - but my experience has been that the other 50% will pay marker price- so i would simply check KBB private party value good (not excellent- unless you think your car is the 5% that fall under this category ) even then most buyers wont pay more then private party good value whatever that may be - also check nada for same and average the 2 prices and make that your rock bottom selling price - youlll find a buyer it may take a little bit longer cuz title issue but will selll for average of KBB & NADA market value at end of day no more - and unless your desperate dont take any less

Every state is different. You would need to ask.
I would never buy a car with title problems. Why?? Re-sale. Pure and simple. As stated in the other post, many buyers won't even consider it and that hurts! I don't believe a car with title issues and 100k+ miles will ever be worth even close to KBB value, even 'fair' book. It is difficult enough to sell clean title, with lower mileage, cars nowadays at these prices. They sell but it isn't as easy as listing it and getting an instant sale. That's rare unless you own a truly 'excellent' car for a decent price. Good luck!

yes, resale is really keeping me from going for the car.
I could enjoy the driving - but sale would probably be 1/2 price to actually sell.

thanks.
