Default Can I run cats or a cat without an air pump?

Just like the title says I want to put a cat on my car to eliminate some of the rasp, but I don't have my air pump anymore. So will my cats get burned up without the pump?

You'll be fine. The AIR pump runs on startup just to make the cats light off faster to make the feds happier. Running cats with LT's don't let them work as efficiently as they could if they were located closer to the exhaust ports anyway, but they will help you with getting rid of some rasp.

I wonder if it would work if I put the cat I took off of my stock y and put it right after the new y?

You mean running one cat in the I pipe after the Y? Nah...that's a bad idea. If you are going to do that, buy a bullet type muffler instead and put it in the I pipe. That will tone down some of the rasp. Or buy 2 small aftermarket high flow cats and put them in the Y.

Why is that a bad idea though? I already have a borla bullet muffler in the I pipe lol. still very raspy. I had a magnaflow catback without the cats and that was really raspy, so I just need a cat. Thats why I want to do this, but why is it a bad idea?

1 cat in the I pipe is too restrictive. Do it right and put 2 in the Y pipe. The aftermarket cats are high flow and small. Random Technology cats are tiny and flow well....for a cat.
