Default OBD1 Tuning options

I'd like to know what everybody uses to tune their OBD1 LT1's. Pros and cons. Do you tune it from your garage or from a shop or mail order (PCMFORLESS)? I'm looking to do a variety of things on my LT1 once it's running. That would include deleting emissions and adjusting the timing for nitrous.
