I am running a little smaller cam that yours now and I have Patriot dual springs on it..I am very happy with them and ran another set on a little bigger cam than yours for about 45,000 miles and they were still good when I replaced them..I always run a dual spring set up just for the piece of mind they give me. I work a Chevy dealership and have seen major damage to heads and pistons and worse when a single spring breaks.

Yes. Huge overkill.
The PAC 1218 will take that cam all day long, provide better valvetrain stability and last just as long. A car I built 2-3 yrs ago has about 30-40K on a set of PACs with this cam.
The internet will have you believe you "need" double springs with everything. But that is not the case.
