Best part of the video for me was listening to the shifts on the vette in the standing mile. 65mph comming out of first gear........awesome.

That's a great comparo. It shows how similar and dissimilar the two cars are. That Corvette was (expectedly) a phenomenal performer, as was the 911. I'm not surprised at all that the Vette was faster around the track. The car I would pick if I had the money (and couldn't buy both) would really depend on what I wanted out of it; if I wanted to be immature (and have lots of fun) I would get the Vette, but my heart is with the 911. If I were buying a track-slut though, I'd get a GT2 RS :drive:

Kinda funny watching the guy shift into 6th for the standing mile. That doesn't happen, as 5th gear is the top gear for the mile. I'm betting he went further than a mile, and the video editors didn't catch it. LOL

I'd love a ZR1 for sure. I respect the performance of the 911 turbo, but I just don't really like the direction they're going with the slight changes in styling.
I'd rather get an older one (Preferably 993 Turbo). Yes it'd sneak into the house, kill me in my sleep and wear my ears for a necklace, but I just love the older cars so much more.

That was pretty crazy... The ZR1 is ridiculous around a road course and jeebus the sound on that standing mile run...

watched that part a couple times cuz of your comment, but they stopped the time at 177mph which was in 5th. looks like they just wanted to show how it pulled top end. god i love the zr1!
What absolute BS. The vette nearly spins for 3.5 seconds......2.8 in the 911? Really, cause that would be around a 1.50 60 ft......
I know through experience that the published numbers are only calculated.....I personally witnessed a very similar super car test......that not one car got with in a second of the published numbers that they printed.
The vette tire is what a 345-20-20.......not even in another dimension could it go 3.5 to 60.....sure it has the power but not with out the very best in sticky tires. Thats rotflmao funny right there.

Its nice a mag finally brought along a real racing driver, since none of the mag drivers can ever get the best out of a ZR1. They all either slide around the corner, or fear for their lives and get on the brakes early and take the corner slow.
Was that the NLS on the standing mile?

Very believable. It did almost run a 10-second pass there. Porsche 911 turbo is also all-wheel-drive.

Surprised they didn't declare the the Porsche the winner. Broken Porsche, wait they aren't supposed to break are they. Bring on the Lexus LFA, at $450,000 per copy, we can watch that break too.
