4.8 heads on 5.7, will this hurt??

4.8 heads on 5.7, will this hurt?? I just picked up a 4.8 from a guy for 100 bucks. The heads casting number is 862,.... these have a smaller chamber will increase compression on the ls1 but will the airflow hurt the performance? if i ported would it be worth it? im doing a cheap build so thanks

The 862 and 706 heads have smaller valves so even if you ported them you still have smaller valves than the 853 241 heads. By the time you spend the money on having larger valve seats installed,,a valve job ,and getting some valves you could have bought a used set of 243 heads.
I suggest finding a set of 243 heads,,there are a couple sets on Ebay right now for $350.
Or if your wanting heads for your turbo motor look for 317 heads they flow the same as 243's,,the 317's will give you less compression which is what most turbo people want.
