so heres my situation. im getting close to 200,000 miles on my ls1. 5.3l engines are cheap. will everything from a ls1 bolt up to a 5.3 block? what would be different? is it worth it?

You will need to drill and tap one hole in the block for the alternator mount and leave one of the bolts out. This is common with people using the 6.0 block in an LS1 car. I guess it would be worth it if the LS1 is no longer in running condition.
