Default ls3 reluctor wheel?

I have an ls3 block I'm stroking to a 427 and am about to order the kit for it from TSP. My question, how do I know which reluctor wheel I need? I'm putting the motor in my 74 Z/28 with a t56 behind it. What does the reluctor wheel actually do?? It's either 24x or 58x

It would depend what reluctor wheel the computer you have is setup for. Computers from most 06+ vehicles will need a 58x reluctor wheel, and anything before that is 24x.

it provides crank position along with the sensor reading it, calculates it with cam position thus helps pcm command ignition
