Default The setup look good for a cam swap?

98-02 LS1 Patriot "Gold" Dual Valve Spring Kit - $255
98-02 LS1 GM LS2 Timing Chain - $42.99
Custom Grind Shelf Cam - $389.99 (I'll figure out cam specs later)
98-02 LS1 Melling Oil Pump (High Volume) - $139.00
98-02 LS1 ASP Racing 25% Underdrive Crank/Alternator Pulleys - $274.49
- Options With Crank Bolt
- With Belts? Yes

Totalling out to $1,102.47 + shipping

The custom grind cam is $30 more than all the others, but I figure I'm going to try and talk to a professional as well as my tuner to figure out what cam specs would match my mods/desires. Am I missing anything obvious? This is going on my 98 LS1 with 98 heads....all tools are taken care of.

If you have the heads off replace the lifters as well. Also, go for the 99-02 water pump gaskets they are a little better and can be re-used for the most part.

Unless you are running a big amp on your stereo system ditch the alt pulley....

And search vettenuts for his post on how to make a pulley intall tool. You will hate life if you strip the crank threads trying to intall the new pulley with your old bolt.

Oh....FYI I think SDPC still sells a powerbond pulley w/bolt for $200........
