Default Ls1 Rebuild prices

Not entirely sure where to put this but I have a 98 z28 with about 170,000 miles on it and looking to have an engine rebuild done. I'm trying to find a good shop in Charlotte that does good work as well as about how much its gonna cost. Just totaled my daily driver (her fault) so i need to get this done asap as the engine is not running now, its got coolant going in the oil and and a slight tick so while i have the money i want to get this done. any comment are appreciated.

Contact Jonathan or Joey at Tick Performance. There a sponsor on here and are located in Moorseville, NC. They do great work, you can search there name on here. Jonathan built my car and 100's of others in NC and SC. Hope this helps.

what exactly did you have done and for about how much. I know good work costs, just working on a budget.

Once you get an idea, post up a ballpark rebuild cost. This has me interested for down the road

Called around to a couple shops around here and got a basic rebuild with stock parts starting at about 2500 but another shop quoted around 3500 for a moderate build. If u want to go forged it will cost quite bit more. These are just some ballpark numbers to go off of. I decided to buy a salvaged engine with 44k miles for a pretty good price.

machine work is pretty expensive just depends how deep your pockets are but those are pretty average prices on a stock overhaul.
