Take a putty knife and separate the foam adhesive damper between the two parts. Then take a grinder and grind away the edge of the hood all the way around the perimeter. Hold your grinder perpendicular to the hood and you will grind away the whole edge of the pinch seam. You only need to remove about 1/8 inch or less to separate them.

perfect! thats just what i wanted to know. Also, if i were to weld different hoods together, a wire feed welder would be pretty much my best bet? And to cut the metal, i was looking at getting of these...

I know harbor frieght isnt the best tool supplier on the market, but i just need them for this job, then i doubt ill be needing them after this project ive got goin on.

so this is a metal hood?
You can painstakingly open the crimp(they even make a door skin tool that will do this)

How much is one of those? I basically just need the hood skin for the thin sheet metal for a special project that i am doing. The hood skin doesnt need to be able to go back on a lower hood part or anything. Which leads to my next question. What would be the best cutting tool for this? I need to cut curves in some places, and dont want to bend the metal, so a cutting shear type of tool is kinda out of the question. Thanks guys

If you dont want to warp metal when cutting use a cutoff wheel and keep a large fan blowing on it or get a metal nibbler that punches tiny pieces off.

im basically making new body panels for a mini 4th gen ss, so im looking more for a cutting and welding job than a fiberglass deal.
