Default Katech "Stage 2' 806 head info.

So I picked up some of these Katech “Stage 2” 806 heads for a good price from a guy. They already have port done. At the moment I’ve got a 02’ LS1 with long tube headers, TPS cam (I’ll have to get the specs), etc. Had the car dyno’ed with ~400 RWHP.

My questions are:

-What are the differences between these heads and 02’ LS1 heads?

-What will I need to do to switch all my hardware (springs, Ti retainers, locks) to the new heads? Or can I?

-I’m planning to use larger intake/exhaust valves. I’ve done some research and found they range from: (int/ex) 2.00/1.55 (stock) to 2.08/1.60. Recommendations?

-What head gasket thickness would you recommend? Brand?

-Anything else?

first off, to put thoes heads on your 02, you will have to change valve covers, and bolt your coil packs directly to the valvecovers.

the 806 heads are 97/98 heads. they are considered "inferior" by some, but bottom line is, an LS head is an LS head once its ported. with the exception of LS6 heads and newer GEN IV heads.

also, all GEN III LS springs and hardware (retainers, locks, pushrods, rockers, etc...) are interchangeable.
