Default need a good machine shop

anyone know a good machine shop near bowling green ky? i have a new 5.3 block and need to get it bored out.. also whats a decent price to have a bore, line hone, and squared?

also this is a dumbass question but i gotta ask it. if i have 3.905 pistons does that mean that i need the bore to be 3.905" or is that the size of piston and i need a little bigger

If you take your block and pistons to a reputable shop then they will bore and hone each cylinder to each piston ,which of course they will number each piston for the cylinder it belongs to.

Also if I were you I would pay the extra money to have them use a torque plate when they bore and hone your cylinders.

In the end the person you are talking to at the machine shop should know everything he needs to do.

As for money wise just remeber you always get what you pay for. There is no standard charge every shop is different.
