Hope i dont step on any toes asking questions that may have been asked or answered many times before, i would appreciate a link if that is the case

First of all, i wanted to say thanks a ton, although i just recently registered, i have been a lurker for some time. I purchased Don's brackets and strut tower brace package based on the numerous happy customers, flipped my motor mount based on your help, even purchased ddm tuning HID's based on your recommendations. But i have a few questions now that i cant find answers to ( searching by sight or an actual search button ) here or on montecarloforum ... plus i figured WTF, im here all the time, might as well spend 5 minutes registering and stop being a creeper :secret2:

questions, -

1- who sells a replacement, or even solid front bushing for the motor mount ?
( i like the improvement from flipping and want it solid )

2- Does anyone know the stock output of the amp and wattage capability of the factory speakers ? ( im looking to upgrade but dont need/ want a new head unit or a sub in the trunk beating up my ears, i would like to start with replacing the speakers )

3- Do anyone elses DDM tuning HID's sometimes not both light/ fire up ???
( im wondering if this has to do with a faulty ballast or if the harness would help )

4- How long does CAI intake take to ship, and are there any major mods needed to mount the whole unit or move the PCM board ??? ( i ordered around 6-10 business days ago )

again, i apologize if things have been discussed before but searching never gets you quite what you want :bang:

oh, and here is my car if anyone cares ???

Welcome, nice Monte!

1. http://www.3800performance.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=MSP-MM&Category_Code=EC&Product_Count=0

2. Can't help ya with this one, maybe check the owner's maunal? Or the stereo guys will chime in.

3. Most likely the ballast, harnesses aren't really needed for the 35w.

4. I'm sure you can track the package to find out when it will arrive. I don't think there are any major mods you need to do, just follow the install instructions.

On the HID issue, I'm thinking a faulty ballast.

The speakers, I think they are great, the headunit is my main gripe. I replaced the headunit, and the factory speakers are very clean sounding, many people have asked me if I changed them.

i dont really mind the stock deck and to get an aftermarket head unit with the features that i want, navigation, ipod in, separate auxiliary and retain a cd changer would just be too much money,

i stopped by a local car electronics place today and talked out options as far as upgrading the speakers first, then replacing the stock amp down the road if it doesnt push the speakers well enough ...

and as far as the bushing goes, can you just purchase one of them ?? because dont the grand prix's and other cars have two front motor mounts, hence the double count ???

dude, i dont doubt there are awesome head units out there, but i have a Zune so ipod controls wont work for me, the aux in on the stock on is fine for me and ive decided to start with the speakers and go from there ... maybe replace the amp after that and then if i feel like its not good enough, buy a new head unit ...

but with the way i do things, that will probably all happen soon enough, i just wanted to start somewhere and i think the speakers are the best, ive even narrowed it done

either Polk DB691 for the rear and DB5251 component for the fronts or

Alpine SPR-13S for the front and SPR69C for the rear

now i just have to try to hear them first :bang:
