Default header wrap is it worth it

just bought some headers and was wondering if i should wrap them or not. will probably have 02 sensors and was worried about putting too much heat in the exhaust. will this have any affect on heating issues?

I wrapped the headers on my small block and had boot protectors as well and still burnt a bunch of wires. Got a set of coated and no more problems

Don't bother with the wrap unless you are trying to protect something. So, what headers did you finally go with after the multiple "What's better, QTP or Kooks" threads you started. ARH?

What about lowering your IATs? A lot of people put in a 160 tstat and turn their fans on earlier to run cooler, so I would think header wrap would help too. Keeping your under hood temps cooler helps extend engine life and keeps racing results more consistent if you're racing hard/long, right?

What is the car being used for? If it is a DD I would advise against it. Wrapping your headers will cause the material to absorb various liquids which can lead to a fire with grease or premature rusting with water. As others have said, get'em coated and leave it at that.
