I am planning on put the V up on jack stand this saturday. and then i will be taking off the wheels to give the inside a good cleaning. i am sick of seeing all the brown and black in there.
question is:
where is the best spot to lift the car and place the jack stands? i looked at the manual and found those spots, but i am not sure if i can get the stand in there too.

Do you have a jig saw? If you do then you can bring that over Saturday, I can cut the engine cover and help put your car up on jackstands... I've only had the front of my car jacked up with my stands but I'm sure we could get the rear up on yours too

The jackstands can go in the cutouts under the down arrow on the sides of the car. You can jack from there too. Anywhere on the rear and front subframe you can jack from too.

I prefer jacking pucks. See here: http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/jackpuck.html
Then place jack stands near the pucks with a 1x4 piece of wood between jack stand and frame to avoid dents to the frame. The jack pucks also help avoid crimping the parking brake cable at the left rear.

Look in your owners manual. It shows you exactly where to jack them up with a floor jack!
I have pictures of mine on stands to give you an idea...
