Default Correct Backspacing

What is the correct backspacing for a 99 camaro, 15x10 rear and 15x4 front? Going to put pro stars on the car just need the for sure back spacing. i know ill still have to grind some.

Use a 2.25" backspacing with the 15x4s and a 7.5" backspacing with the 15x10s

Just make sure you're up to taking off some serious metal on the rear calipers. I have prostars 15x10 with 7.5 bs and had to take off a significant amount to make them fit. They still work fine though and haven't had a problem.

is the back spacing the same for a 97 camaro.

The race stars fit the rear w/ no grinding... maybe look for a set of them.. just a idea!

so the 2.25 backspacing is ok to use on the front with the stock brakes? why does everyone use the 1.625??

That is the backspacing I am using with my 15x4 Billet Specialties, I ran 2.25 on the 15x4 Draglites that were on the car before.


Even with that backspacing you are going to either grind the calipers or run a spacer with Billet Specialties, Draglites or Pro Stars

Depends on wheels. Prostars for the least amount of grinding, 15x10 with 7.50" backspace, and 15x3.5 with 1.75" backspace. Welds new RTS wheels will fit front and rear without any grinding.
