Tips on how to clean up cylinder heads?
Got my heads disassembled and pressure washed them pretty good to get the thick grim off. Now how do I go about cleaning the bottom surface? I used a wire wheel (pic of similar below) to get some of the carbon off, didnt want to get too much into (didnt get into the chambers yet). Was wondering If i could use it on the head or switch to something else?
Used to working with Iron heads, so Aluminum are a different ball game for me.
Pic of head (drive I think)
Edit: Sorry for the big pic, still dont know how to work my iphone lol

A wire wheel? Please do not do this. Solvents are great, straight edge razor blade works. I've always used a plastic scouring pad, straight edge razor blade and brake cleaner.
That wire wheel is fine for the block as long as you keep it away from the pistons.

OVEN CLEANER OVEN CLEANER OVEN CLEANER
After getting sick of sandblasting intakes then having to thread tap clean all of the debris's out I tried oven cleaner. This is after I even tried soaking intakes in a parts cleaner full of pure diesel fuel with not much luck. I will never use brake cleaner or any solvent ever again, this stuff just melts off the sludge.

eagle one aluminum wheel cleaner or wd40 and a scotch brite pad..
i use a 90degree grinder and hit the valves with the little scotchbrite pads on the grinder, then i take a piece of sand paper and knock down the sharp edges on the combustion chambers..
