243 + streetsweeper cam question
I have a 98 camaro that i am looking to mod, but with mostly factory parts. I was thinking about running a stock set of 243 heads along with ls6 intake and streetsweeper cam. I was wondering what is the factory combustion chamber size on the 243 heads as well as how much the piston is in/out of the hole on a factory 5.7? I am also curious what is a good dcr to run in these engines? also if you were to mill the 243's what would be the max so that you wont run into piston to valve clearance issues?
I am curious also what others with similar setups are putting down for hp and torque?
Thanks in advance for you input as i am new to the LS game.

The factory combustion chamber is 64.5cc and the ls1 piston is usually around .007 out the hole. Milling the 243's over 35 thousandths starts to affect flow but I don't know when PTV becomes an issue. I'm pretty sure the PTV is the same on the 241 and 243 heads, they just have a smaller chamber and same valve placement. Specs are 228/232 .612/.600 111 for people that could answer the ptv question.
I would expect about 410-430rwhp with that setup.

I really just want to make sure the combo will work with the 243 heads without interference problems! on the other hand i would really like it to make between 420 and 450 hp, but with a decent power band. i am not sure if there are better cams out on the market today.
