i bought a set of nice fabbed valve covers and awhile ago when i went to set them on they dont fit. because of the pieces that go across the covers hit the piece the rockers sit on. can i just cut the cross pieces out or should i start looking for my 3rd set of covers?

That works for stud mount rockers, but I don't think shaft mounts would clear the stock covers even if you cut the braces...

Haven't tried it myself though, so def wait until someone who has tried it can chime in.

If the cross brace is the only part hitting it should be fine. Now if they are not tall enough that is a whole different issue.

they are definitely tall enough i think its just the cross braces
