Sorry for the general question, but based on your experience, what are people generally netting out of their standard, street-able NA builds? I'm talking in terms of intake (both the air intake and manifold), cams and heads.
Not looking to get too into the exhaust beyond the Corsa it already has. Just doing some basic research here. I'd like to keep the car NA as we already have a Turbo'd car (335i) and a supercharged car (Mustang). I figured it might be nice to have a nice NA built motor that still retained the qualities that make it a Cadillac.
Would 400-425whp be reasonable without making it too obvious (lopey)?

You should be able to hit 400 with some work on the stock heads and a cam. Then the supporting mods like a Fast and headers.

Yeah, 400 isnt too hard. Just get a decent sized cam and supporting mods to go with it. If you add heads you can get closer to the 450 mark.

Gotta do long tubes if you wanna do heads/cam. 450-475 is pretty easily attainable with good heads, good speced cam(not always bigger is better) and a nice ported FAST intake. And thats on a stock bottom end.

My cam, heads, headers, intake, etc put down 468 on stock bottom end through a 9" rear on an fbody...with more in it I'm sure.

The right setup can make decent power and still be driveable.

this x2
if you port the stock intake and TB, get a set of LTs, go with a nice cam, and get rid of the stock clutch/flywheel, you will be in the 425 to 430 range. in you go with a FAST set up, and do so head work, 450+ a very realistlic goal.
it will come down to how much money you want to spend.

^^^ no gains in porting an ls6 intake manifold. only ls2 show gains becuase the ls6 stock outflows a stock ls2 intake.

This, a lot of shops won't even bother since the gains are minimal at best.

I made right around 400 with my cam, long tubes and CAI. Untouched stock TB and ls6 intake manifold and no u/d pulley and thats through a stock clutch and fylwheel. With a FAST 90/92 and u/d pulley id expect 430, add in some good heads like AFR 205s and id bet 460 would be possible.

how much longer life do you think your clutch has? haha.
i am trying to decide what i should do with my intake. i know i am going to port the TB. but since i am starting to save for a TVS1900 (or MP122), i dont want to do a lot to the top end. since i will be re working the entire top end of the engine. which that will be: heads, valvetrain, blower cam, and the S/C. and if i can get a lot of extra money, i will do a 9" irs and punch go out to 408 :D .

Yep and you could hit that number easier if you changed to a lightweight clutch and flywheel. I am at 440 rwhp but with a lopey cam and a heavy z06 clutch ;).

With only doing rolls from now on id suspect I have a good bit left in it until i switch to a plate and run 150 shot in the spring and do a couple other little things that is.

intake, headers, cam and a good tune should get you 400whp or very close.

Intake as in a new manifold or just cold air intake?

i am thinking by intake, he could mean a CAI, TB, and manifold...i could be wrong though.

dart 225 heads, FMS 14 cam, Kooks headers, B&B exhaust with yummy cut outs, lol, FAST 92 ported to 95, FAST 95 throttle body, 60 lb injectors for the 150 shot coming after the 9" gets installed which it currently is, C6Z06 clutch with steel flywheel (actual lost 15 rwhp with this set up from the spec/light flywheel that I had but it drives like stock now-love it!) underdrive balancer, K&N CAI, Chrome Moly push rods. Wheeeew I think thats it for now, lol.
puts down 440 rwhp now with the Z06 clutch set up. Would be 450-460 if I went back to the lighter clutch set up.

Oh and I have an LS6 not an LS2.
Nice numbers :). Would be fun to do some cam/head work again. Our latest vehicles have been able to remain stock internally (well except a forged bottom end replacement on the Saleen).
Would be great to have a NA vehicle in that power range.
I think the 335i will be in the 400-410 range soon, and the Saleen SHOULD hit the 500whp mark next time I dyno it.
