Default Swap LS1 to LS6 Heads & Cam?

I have a 2001 ss a4 and looking into the near future for a heads/cam swap. I have read many posts about purchasing aftermarket heads and cams, but why not stick with General Motors/Chevy and upgrade? Has anyone performed an LS to LS swap of heads and and cam? If so, what kind of numbers can be gained from doing this? Would you be more likely to have problems installing aftermarket components or newer LS products? I don't want my car sounding like a loping tractor-pull/monster truck, but I am not opposed to a little more engine roar either. I look forward to your comments.

If you want performance without the noise I would go with a Z06 hot cam and a set of Z06 LS6 heads with sodium filled valves. It is a very proven setup makes great power and sounds stock.

same as top. depending on the amount of power you want as to what sound you will get. as you probably know, generally a more aggressive cam will sound loopy but produce more power. depends where you want it on the power band. all depends on what power level you want and as far as ls and aftermarket, install and quality is generally the same. check tsp trickflow or patriot head/cam packages. cant go wrong.

I should probably mention I will be installing a set of 410's to the rear this upcoming April. Wondering how this might effect the equation?

What are the specs on the Z06 hot cam? Does anyone have the part number?
