will 3.73's alleviate verter looseness???
I'm thinking of getting a 3500 stall (thanks to all advice on this site! ) but I am still a little concerned about a "loose" feel to the throttle that it will create. If I move up from 3.23's to 3.73's, will that help keep it tight?????
Anyone just do the gears and are happy with that improvement?

I run 3.42's. its loose only when not locked up. The TC lockup will alleviate looseness, but at a price.
You can have 4.10's but if your shiz don't lockup till 50mph and you drive around in the city at 40mph its gonna be loose.
If you get the 3 to lockup at 35mph and 4 to lockup at 40mph then your looseness will go away that those set points.
Loose is defined to me as:
3000rpm to do 20mph up a mild hill
2400rpm to do 35mph on flat ground
nothing less than 2000rpm to do any mph any time (except locked up).
this is with a TCI SSF 3500. Now when i press the gas its a different story.
I'm still not used to the looseness. I find it loud obnoxios, and the 9mpg sucks. (remember i drive about 35mph max around the city due to cops lately).
On the freeway it locks up nicely and im sure the mpg is great, but loose is defintely underrated here.
Compared to the stock converter, a 3500 TCI is a helluva lot looser than most people play it up to be.
The car used to be quiet, get great mpg, and didn't need much throttle putting around town. All is gone now, but hay, i have a muscle car so who cares.

Yes it will help, but a 3500 stall with 3.23s is very streetable. I would not get rid of your 3.23s for a street car. Rather put the money into getting Edit and raising your part throttle shift points. That produces a noticable improvement in looseness and then you have Edit and can play with everything else.
