Dude, they thought that was their brilliant solution to a huge fuck up of under engineering. BMW are fucking over priced IMO anyway. Some dipshit who hasn't been out from behind his desk in 10 years came up with the reprogramming idea, now its gonna blow up in their face and smear their name even further in the mud. And for those who don't know......The last report I saw for warranty return repairs, BMW was ranked #1 for the most. :bang:

BMW has been doing this shit for years. Their engineering is terribly overrated and these types of problems have plagued them constantly yet they never learn their lesson.

They never learn their lesson because they never really have to. German engineering has a reputation and they just keep spouting off those two buzzwords in every commercial and the masses gobble it up.

Exactly.
I'll say this for BMW... when I worked for them it was very clear their QC was incredible which then exposed the real problem. If you're constantly fixing the same thing(s) for each car then it's probably an engineering issue. Like not sleeving an aluminum block or using a two piece oil pan and a cork gasket or too small of a coolant overflow or ...
