Default alternator cooling duct interference?

hey guys, i started puttin the accessories on my 79 t/a, and i'm getting significant interference that wont allow my alternator to bolt int he factory fbody position, because its hitting the engine cradle. anyone run into this issue?

the truck alt.........which i am running......does not have a cooling duct like the stocker......trim it as you need i say

using what accessories? fbody or truck or vette ? i have vette nothing interferes....

fbody, its got this huge freakin coolin duct on the back.

only problem with cutting is that it will expose the diodes etc to possibly short circuit situation (expose electronics to the elements)

might have to notch the frame? or modify it with some heat and a hammer?

as you can see....there is plenty of room to trim if needed

Cut off the duct trim it up and epoxy it back on.

Most other alts don't have that cooling duct because they have more air flow around them however in the fbody does have much room to allow enough air flow to the alt.

cut the duct, epoxied it back and everything fits fine. close but fine.

yeah, i forgot i have a band saw in my basement (out of sight out of mind) but it worked well.
