Arrow New to the site from Texas! Need some insight!

Hey everyone! Im new to the site and Im hoping to get a little help. This is a little bit of a big question for my first post but it's got to be solved! I recently installed a custom ground cam in my 04 sierra. 221/226 & 566/568 lsa 114. This along with a 2,500prm stall, and ls2 heads. I took the truck to the shop to have it dyno tuned. The guy running the dyno asked for the specifications of my cam and I read them off to him. He then asked me something about 4 degrees. I simply said uhhhhh i dunno. But I was wondering if he meant had I advanced my timing by 4 degrees? I have seen many people list their lsa like so: 114 + 4. What does the plus 4 mean? I am going to advance the cam timing either way to try and get some more bottom end out of it but I didnt know if a 4 degree advance was a common thing for people to do in my case. Will someone please expain this to me?
