I know I seen a thread that talked about this, but after 45 min of looking, I can't find it... Is there any benefit of running one over the other?

Setup: 425 stroker / L92 Stg 3 WCCH / Cam N/A

Thanks guys and sorry for the redundant discussion ;)

Well I found this from a google search... It looks like the L76 and LS3 are the same in performance, but a little different in mounting functions for some things.

If anyone has anything to add please post.

Which ever you can find at a better price. The LS3 has a plenum cover that most people don't run.

I am starting to lean to the carb style again, but it depends on the $$$...

Thanks Bro!:chug:

So the runners are the same length between the two?

The truck intake:confused: I was talking about the LS3 and L76 intake, not the L92 intake ;)

The 76 uses the old style map. The 3 uses the newer type map sensor. If I remeber correctly. They are almost the same other wise.

The 76 intake looks like a stock LS6 very stealth like. If you are into that. At Super Chevy there was a car that had a crate LS3 in it.( 4th gen F car) I looked at it an noticed the Ls3 intake due to the cover on it. I looked some more and saw the head casting # and knew that it was an Ls3 for sure. The guy had all the emission equip. and stock wiring etc. It was a very clean install.

So L92 intakes are no-no's, I assume?

Well they are a truck manifold, but i guess you could run one if you really wanted to, but isn't the height different??? I'm currently running the L76 an either going vic jr with a 4150TB or FAST LSXR 102mm... richard @ WCCH said port match the vic an i won't regret it for the street... ;) He is the man for sure gonna have a set of heads from him on my next build he has got this shit down to a science for sure.

Everytime I see the vic jr, they are boosted applications. Would one benefit on an NA build? Because Im in the market for an intake.

I've did some threads on it on here and found some useful info an yes mid an peak numbers are wild, but your curve is gonna be moved up... Search besstrokdnova...

The truck intake is that ugly ass 12 foot tall block; he couldn't use it even if it produced a 100hp gain... it wont fit.

I wanted to go the Vic Jr route for my Stg 3 WCCH, but right now I need to do this on the cheap because of school so I just picked up a LS3 intake.

I have been reading so many threads lately so I'm not sure which one it was, but the Vic Jr is the shit for the L92s; however, a LS3/L76 type intake seems to be a little more fun for power down low when on the streets, the single plane Vic Jr. doesn't seem to preform as well as the composite down low, but it shines up top for peak #'s ;)

If I am incorrect with this, I am sure someone will chime it.

Yes sir son thats correct so i mean with most of us early Ls3 an L92 users were stuck between 2 choices, The Fast LSX-R or the Vic Jr with a 4150. The fast is good down low an the vic is good up stairs, but with that being said i think the peak number isn't a bad thing to chase if the vic was plumbeb from one of the sponsors an port matched to you heads. When i talked to richard last time at WCCH he told me the Vic Jr didn't kill anywhere near as much torque as a GMPP did an that cleaning up the runners an the inside better from a local porter for your heads would net a few more ontop of what you already have. Being that i have a 251/259 660/663 111LSA cam it start to wake up at 3500 an pull to the moon so the vic is really my only thought, but being daily driven the car won't build much torque being set-up more for a drag car so i figured shit that isn't any good at all. So the more i thought about it an the more people i talked to they said i wouldn't regret going vic jr with the size of my camshaft on this 408. I figure it isn't really a small cube to most people, but it's smaller than most Ls builds compared to what most people are doing on here and i was told 408's make up for the loss of torque on the bottle from a local shop guy who was the first in st. louis to start grinding cams from his shop in which he specialized in vipers an now f-bodys. The last 347 2000 z06 vette he built lives on a 500 shot daily through a viper t-56 an murders the tires at 70 like a hurricane leaving miles of white smoke... lol This car is insane an went 9.48 at 144 spinning like crazy... He really knows his shit an my heart is set on nitrous with a vic or fast just wish we could see more results. I figure N/A the car is only gonna make so much power so the only other way to get more RWHP is to rev it to the moon an with a vic jr living from 3500 to 7500 would be ideal through a built t-56 on the bottle since the only races on the sreet regardless what your trying to race is normally from a roll...

But what about DBW cars? I dont have a mechanical throttle body, so I dont have a throttle cable. So is this only for non-DBW cars?

If you go with an elbow then you will not have an issue, but as for a 4150 type TB, good question! I'm sure there are guys who were/are DBW are running a carb type intake with a 4150 TB, but not sure how.
