Convertible Vehicles - Smog pump 86ing

I want to get that ridiculous smog pump out of my engine bay with all attaching pipe to boot. but im not too sure if this will cause either a significant change in power or engine life either way. i could care less about gas milage. if i did i would own a honda or any other number of crappy ricers, then i would slap a cold air intake on, a fart can and a few stickers which add like 5 horse power per sticker and call myself fast. does anyone have any experience with this? pointers?

Nah, the smog pump don't affect a thing if its there or not. Rip it out!

I'm not sure what I need to tune out the code. I tuner I'm sure but what kind brand model number? Help?

Pull it. I never got a code when I pulled mine on my 98 but others have. Its not going to make it any faster but it does unclutter the engine bay and make it easier to change the plugs. I saved mine in a box so I could put it back on if need be.

fuck it. pull it. I didnt get a code in my 98 either, although my tuner coulod of turned the code off. i dont remember
