12 Second Club - 12.38 @ 120 are 11's a possibillity?

went to the track last night i ran a 12.38 @ 120 with a 2.24 60ft. i know the 60ft is bad. still trying to learn the launch. are elevens possible with a better 60? what do you guys think? thanks.

also i know the traps there for elevens but i can get it to hook that well when im spraying on motor the best 60 Ive had was a 1.96

i went 11.77@119 with a 1.77 60' but i'm way lighter (2800#s) and still have traction issues down the track.


i'd say tires and launch will get you there if not REALLY close.

You've got low 11 second mph. The more practice launching on the spray the better you'll get. My first pass on nitrous in my GTO was a 12.99 @ 119. I got it down to 11.8 @ 121 on street tires after a few visits to the track.

I know I want to take it to san antonio and try for the 11 pass there I was in temple fun track just not the best for great times I always run slower there. What do you think my time would of been around with a 1.9 60 ft. Also I'm running drag radials so tires are decent suggestions on psi? I run 15 but have heard to maybe try 18

Thanks that gives me hope haha I'm on a wot switch I'm trying to learn get a solid launch with out blowing the tires off once I get that down o should get much better. How is your nitrous activated?

You definately got 11's. Its all in the 60'
I had a weak 60', 1.8 and ran a 11.98@120 while my buddy with very similar mods went 11.6@120 with a 1.6 60'. Main differences was he had slicks & a 12 bolt and I was on BFG DR's and a stock 10 bolt.

That's good to hear I'm on bfg drs also I'm going to go to the better track near me next time to try and grab the 11s

I had a WOT switch on the throttle blade, I launched the car about 2300 rpms, and rolled into it.

I'll give that a try that next time. I guess I haven't done that yet bc I'm trying to avoid my lack of low end power due to the cam ha but I guess the spray should bring it up pretty quick

That was with my first H/C setup. I was running Absolute Speed stage 2's, Comp 230/230 110, LS6 intake, Jantzer ported TB, Pacesetter LTs, 3" duals.
That was in complete street trim with 17s all around & full weight.

you can definately hit 11's if you get that 60' down. every .1 you shave off your 60' is generally worth .2 up top. how are you launching the car? dumping the clutch?

not a full out dump but pretty close if i try and ride the clutch out i seem to lose clutch pedal?

Are you spinning or bogging? I would assume spinning from that bad of a 60'. If you can't slip it well enough and don't want to get slicks, I'd start leaving from a lower rpm until you find a spot you don't spin from (which you will probably bog from then), and work your way up from there. That 'lose clutch pedal' sounds like maybe a hydraulic issue starting.

ya im spinning. the track i was at is known to be pretty bad tho its old and worn out.im going to go down to the better one this coming friday and see how it goes. that old track is pretty rough my roomate normally runs low 13.5-13.2s in his z28 and couldnt break a 13.9 haha. ill try what you said tho thanks for the advice. i just want my 11's!! so close
