Who is running this intake on there LS1,and if you are how do you like it over a lid?

An intake/lid is an intake/lid....aside from one fitting worse than another, they're all going to be the same. Pick the one you think is the prettiest, and don't worry about other setups being more effective.

I do not like oiled filters. The air filter itself is a negligible
restriction and so really is the lid air-slot (even more so
on the taller WS6 base). I could see that critter being a
real menace in the rain if you debaffled the hood. Water
not even having to run uphill, just land on the sponges
and in she goes.
