Default Trans Am performance plan

First, if there is a better place for this thread, please let me know where to put it. I'm trying to get as much input as possible. Thank you.

A little background: I have a 2002 Trans Am WS6, A4, with a few bolt-ons. It also has 133k miles (more by the time I get the major modding underway) with the associated age issues (i.e. slow window motors, noisy headlight motors, etc.). I will begin working as soon as the navy pays me lol (in a few months hopefully). Here's my plan, in order of completion:

Monster 4l80 transmission

Yank 3400 stall

12-bolt rearend

A steel drive shaft
(no frontrunner yet)

Rear suspension (either of the BMR kits, leaning to level 2)

LS3 based 427

I'm not trying to peddle any products here, just giving my plan. I would love input from users and sponsors alike on ways to streamline this process or ways to do it cheaper or more reliably. Also what is the perceived difficulty level of this project?

Thanks again for the input!

Ummmmm, that is a lot of coin dude, for that much money you could have a boosted 408 and have more hp and money under your belt.

Thumbs up

That's a good point. Are you talking about camming, putting new heads on, and stroking out my current engine, and upgrading to forged internals or going with and iron block? My biggest worry in upgrading my block is age. I am no mechanical genius, however, so my worries in upgrading could be ill-founded. The reason I chose the block I did is because it already has the forged internals, its a new block, and it comes with just about everything I need to plug and play so to speak. If I choose the iron block route, I have to buy all of these things including the turbo and associated parts. If you don't mind elaborating on your idea, I would appreciate it. Thank you.
