Installed height typically runs around 1.790"-1.800" on a stock head and stock valve....and of course that is altered any time you run different spring seats, shim under those seats, different retainers, etc!

Isn't that the spring installed height? I was referring to the total length of valve stem above the aluminum of the head to maintain proper lifter preload after a valve job. THANKS

Sorry, I just skimmed quickly and saw installed height....that is correct for spring installed height. I do not have the number for tip height in front of me, but might be able to get it for you if these phones calm down a bit later!
