I have a 2001 Silverad 4.8 LR4 that I am putting in a corvette chassis. Mine has a mechanical throttle body but everything else I see seems to say it should be electronic. Were there two different versions made in '01 or do I not have an LR4?

drive by wire didnt start till 2003 and vans with 4.8's had cables through 06 at least. don't know who told you otherwise? only vettes had dbw before 2003

There were some engines in 01-02 that were electronic throttle, but 03 was the big changeover.

I have a complete drive by wire truck intake if you wanted to switch for that cable driven one.

Wonder why my wiring diabram shows dbw? Must be wrong.

The 4.8L wasn't DBW till 03. The earlier DBW 01-02 were mostly 6.0L's and some 5.3L. The mech TB even carried over in the vans till at least 2007.

But it easy easy to swap form one to the other. Just need the DBW setup and the correct PCM.

I prefer to stay mechanical. I guess I must have gotten a 2003+ diagram. Do you think the '01 wiring is pretty much the same as '03 except for the pedal stuff?
