yea, but the 80 is quite a bit bigger than a 60.. I have a 60 and lots of room.. I am intrested in the answer as well.. I think my combo is going to make short work of the 60...

I've done two 4L80E swaps into 1st gen F-bodies. One was a 455 powered Firebird, the other was a 502 powered Camaro. I made the crossmember for the Firebird. The trans fit the tunnel just fine. We purchased a crossmember for the Camaro of off Ebay. It was a horrible fit. We modified the crossmember extensively so it would fit, but the trans fit the tunnel just fine.

I have a 4L80e in my 67 camaro. It fits fine with no mods to the tunnel. The only place you may have an issue is the fittings for the trans lines. I had to get 90 degree ones. I did also have to grind my shift linkage bracket a little (less than an inch). I am using the performance auto transmission center raptor crossmember.

First, I got the fittings that bolt directly into the transmission from tci, because the fitting on the front of the newer style transmission has a tube that extends into the transmission and without it, it will burn up the trans. I got my 90 degree fittings from my local hydraulic supply store. Then I had them bend metal tubes for me to run out to the firewall based on a coat hanger wire I used as a template. From there I am using fuel injection hose as cooler line, because I got a big spool of it cheap and it can be used as tranny cooler line.
