Recommend a worthy cam for big power with Heads :)
I am sure this has been discussed more times then we can count but I am looking for really numbers. I dont want to guess at this. Recently I blew the motor in my 01Z and decided to go with a bigger cam, intake, etc.. I have a set of Lingenfelter/GMPP milled heads (62cc) 243's and had a MTI G1 (.228/.232 .588/.575 113) Car made 449 RWHP and is tuned with HPTuners. I ordered a fast 102mm/LS2 TB and looking for a bigger cam. Car will also see a small 100-125hp shot of nitrous. Looking to get about 480/490RWHP NA.

Have futral or pat g custom spec you a cam. You just fill out a sheet that tells them what done to your car and what your goals are and they decide what the best cam for the job is. It will be a lot more custom tailored to your setup then most off the shelf cams will and should have better results. Pat g charges 25 and futral does it for free.

I don't know about that....
Make 435 through a TH400/9inch/big converter/28" tire with any other off the shelf grind. There's a reason there are a ton of threads on them (i.e. they work well).
It's a great cam for what it is. If you want the most out of a combo, get a custom one.

Also a lot of people get caught up in bigger is better. Id say that's part of the reason there's so many ms* cam threads. Not everyone has such great results from them.
I'm not saying its a bad cam but its not anything special either. It lacks power below 3.5k and is a beast up top big deal.

I think its funny alot of people seem to be scared of big cams ... the best thing you can do is read every bit of info that you can find on each cam .. what they work best with the Trex was made to get the most out of a stock LS1 430-450hp w/a good tuner so it depends on what you want to do.. search threads read and read. I like the TRex cam but they are all good cams and everybody will steer you all over the place think about what you want.. radical/ mild / what are you planning on doing with the car just remember big cams need big gears and big converters but they are the most fun by far and most cams will hit the pistons if you over rev it or miss a gear or break something at wide open throttle because **** happens and yes they have rev limiters but that will not stop it like its under a load and hitting the limiter so just keep all this in mind.. big cams always fly cut the pistons it the safest way for your engine to last the longest because it would suck to break a 15.00 u joint and wipe out your engine ...thats just my 2 cents

The internet is a very funny thing... In some ways it's very good & in some ways it's very bad! It gives people the ability to express their opinions in a setting where you can't really get a feel for if they actually have any measurable knowledge.
A example is someone saying the MS4 is overrated & that they only pick up 20-25rwhp.
Another example is how shops can claim to have something magical going on in their lobes or cam designs when they actually have no side-by-side data.
We engine dyno test every camshaft we sell. We engine dyno test lots of other competitors camshafts & we test lots of possible TSP grinds. The result is we have without a doubt the best idea of what works & how our camshafts compare to the competition. I invite someone with the opinion they have a magical lobe or a magical camshaft that outperforms TSP stuff to bring it down. My dyno is sitting here ready to go...
But what do I know I only have the fastest heads/cam stock bottom end LS1 car in the country & it runs the MS4 camshaft... LOL
