Default ls1 rebuild

Just curious if anyone has just rebuilt an ls1 with stock parts for instance i am thinking about just buying some new main and rod bearings like clevite 77s and some new piston rings and wondering if you had to rebalanced the assembly because of this and can you just use a ball hone to get the cross hatches showing again. My motor has like 104k on it but when i do my h/c/i install i was thinking of freshening it up. Was going to use katech rod bolts while i was in there as well.

does it consume oil? or make any noises?
if not then i would only do the rod bolts, head bolts, and be done.

if your that worried about it, replace all the gaskets.

Its a pretty good runner. Oil consumption is not bad for an ls1 just figured since I'm going to have the thing out of the car why not
