Default c6 z06 busted rearend

So I just got my 06 z out of the shop with a new twin disc and took it to the track....BOOM...Assuming my rearend is busted....What the hell do I need to do...Looks like its an output shaft what won't know til later and I don't know **** about rear ends so. Anyways is there a beefier unit I can buy or what I mean I thought the one I had was bullet proof damn...And how much am I looking to spend worse case scenario.... Matt

The C6 Z06 diff is very strong and has been tested with well over 1000 rwhp but any diff is subject to breakage given certain conditions (wheel hop, etc.). Do you have the diff and trans braced together? Send it to RPM for inspection and rebuild.

Could be the axle shafts or a broken mainshaft in the tranny. Only way to know for sure is to pull it apart.

haha no more popping the clutch.....Broken half shaft...Gm for one axle 500 plus 25 for the new seal bc it broke off right before the tranny....I think im going to just throw a gm axle on it instead of a 2399 upgrade kit from rpm....Screw that..maybe later....

C5 half shafts are suppose to be stronger than the C6 ones. Look for someone parting out a C5.

I never drag raced my C5Z, but I've always assumed that you could not dump the clutch with a sticky tire and a stick shift Vette without breaking stuff.

Maybe on stock drivetrain, but with a built drivetrain you can dump the clutch.

If you're into drag racing you're much better off with an automatic than a stick.

Well when you build almost your entire motor and throw a twin disc clutch in for good measure you tend to wanna see what it will actually do...Believe it or not when you are talking to most people not included in the conversation is you need stronger half shafts and **** like that...Bottom line is when you are building a street car for the strip **** is gonna break until it makes the complete transition from street to the strip............Thats why when you go to the track for test and tune on friday night most of the insane fast rides are "pieces of ****" imo.......However we choose to be different and have something absolutely bad *** and different from those doing those same things...It takes a lot of time, dedication, and money....Bring on the challenge! I want the best of both worlds and i guess i will pay the price for it...I think anybody can buy a piece of crap and put a big motor and drivetrain in it and go fast...But for us "Vette boys" we are starting off 20-60k in the hole....So in conclusion, i salute all you with vettes running crazy ets........
