Default estimates on power production?

Hey guys. Looking for some help estimating the potential rwhp of my proposed setup. First off, this is ultimately the powerplant for a 1955 Chevy truck. Building as a DD as well. It will have a 5.7 LS1/4L60E setup, with 2800 stall converter, 3.73 gears, longtube headers. Now, I know there are a lot of folks that don't like the ls1 hot cam, but that's what I'm going with on a budget. I already have it, so that's done. I just bought a set of stock LS2 243 heads to replace the 241s. Also have the LS6 intake and I'm going to port the TB. What kind of rw numbers could I expect?

Don't get too caught up on the numbers with the auto tranny. Its not gonna show well on the dyno, but will do the deal on the street. I would venture to say 360-370 whp range.

you spent money on stock 243 heads to pickup 15-20rwhp when you wouldn't invest in a cam thats better then the hotcam? You could have bought my tr224 off me and prob picked up a good 15rwhp over the gm hotcam. But anyways id say 360-375 is in the ballpark

I bought the heads reasonably enough and will sell my heads to make $150-200. I paid $150 for the hot cam. I know that there are better cams than the hot cam, but I wanted a good sound and a little power while keeping my fuel mileage in mind. This truck won't win every race, but it'll sound damn good and (hopefully) have decent power. Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it.

If you only payed 150 for the hot cam I'm assuming its used. If that's the case throw that baby back up for sale and buy my tr224 112lsa off me for 250. It will lope harder idle as good or better and outpull it everywhere.
I was looking at the hotcam before I got my 224 I thought it would be enough but decided in the end the 224 would be better. After the install I relized I should have went even bigger so now I had a custom cam spec'd. I'm not trying to put you down I'm just saying for I wouldn't go through the work installing any cam smaller then 224 now.

Since when do 241s bring 200 bucks on the used market? More like $25 I'd say.

I appreciate the input, really. But I'm not looking for huge numbers. If I can get 360-380 rwhp, I'm ok with that. I know how big my ***** is, and I'm ok with it. Seriously, I appreciate the input, and later I may swap out. To me, a project like this is all about evolving. Later, when I have time to save, I may pull the engine and get a new LS3 E-Rod. Or something else. Right now, these are the items I have, and I was just curious about what kind of power I'd be looking at. mtuggle86, If I could scrounge the $250, I might buy that off of you. Right now, I already have the Hot Cam, so we'll see how she does. I've seen alot of folks happy with them, and alot going bigger. I appreciate the advice. I'll keep you posted on how it goes.

I haven't had my car on the dyno but it should be around 400rwhp. Like I said I wasn't trying to put your setup down just trying to help out. Let me know if you want the tr224 112 I've got pics and its in good shape.
