Default Heads/cam "packages"

I am not an expert in head or cam designs so I dont want to piece together a package that doesn't work well together. I am going to read as much as I can on cam and head designs so I understand what I am buying but I would like to get a proven "package" set up.

What shops are putting out good package set ups with the latest designs and technology?

I know there are some real cam experts on these boards that members say to get with to spec a cam. I wouldn't mind discussing some options with either some head or cam experts and piece a set up together that way if the package idea doesn't pan out. Let me know what you guys think and who to talk to on this option.

I know there are probably a lot of options for both of these I appriciate any advice and direction you guys can throw my way.

This site has so many sponsors with great results. TSP, AFR, Vengeance, Speed Inc.

You have to ask yourself what is your real goals for the car. Are you like most that just want a fun driving daily driver street car, or are you gonna be an all out race car? or are you trying to just make a certain amount of HP?

Feel free to give us a call at the shop! We would be more then happy to go through the details on the packages we offer. We have an engine dyno and a chassis dyno which we use to test and improve every package we offer!

Pretty much ANY of the sponsers can get you setup with a great H/C package. Pick one close to you or one you want to deal with and call them up

Best advice - hands down.

Be realistsic and honest about what you want your car to do. 500rwhp and excellent street manners doesn't come easy or cheap. 420 - 450 rwhp is very achievable with the proper setup and attention to detail.

As long as your budget and long term goals are in line, you should have no problem finding someone else who has figured out all the details already.

I agree I am staying very realistic about what I want. I am not making any sort of max effort set up or race only. I need a reliable street set up, my car is a "garage queen" but when I do take it out to enjoy it there are a lot of far from home miles put on it like power tour or long distant cruises with friends.

Order of importance for me is the following:
1) Reliable
2) Good street manners after a good tune. I dont want any bucking and still be able to use 6th as I would now. As long as a tune can fix any "issues" then I am open to any option.
3) Good power under the curve at all rpm not a dyno queen or high rpm cam that is only good for racing
4) I would like to gain a 100hp from the set up at the wheels, current set up is 330. If I get close to 420-430 with out killing number 1-3 that would be awesome.

Let me know if you guys think I can achieve all of the above. Budget is not a big issue but obviously if I can achieve the above with quality parts and not break the bank that would be awesome! I need to also get a clutch and supporting fuel system so I have to watch myself on the heads/cam package.

If you would like to save a few dollars & purchase a solid set up call Tony Mamo. He has my complete setup, ported AFR 205's, ported Fast 90, his chosen cam 228/228 113*.The package has less 2000 miles.

It will easily meet & exceed your goals, you will also find 6th more usable due to the increase torque @ lower rpm's.

Talk to Tony Mamo@AFR, he'll set you up with exactly what your looking for. They just released a whole new head, which is 210cc, but their 205s and their 224/228, or 228/228 cam has been proven to do exactly what your looking for, and then some. This setup makes great power under the curve, is very easy to drive. When setup properly, you could easily make 440+rwhp.

As far as fuel goes, a Ractronix Hotwire kit and pump, along with injectors will plenty of fuel.
