I was wondering if I can use the yellow ls6 springs with the ls9 cam. Cam specs are 211/230 .558/.552 122 lsa. How long will the springs last. The stock ls6 cam is 204/218 0.551/0.547 117 LSA. The lift is not that defferent.

I feel that those springs probably would work with that cam, however i would not use them.

Call comp cams or something, they should be able to tell you for sure.

By going to some nice aftermarket springs, you get some added stability up top so its definitely a worthwhile upgrade.

Also, might want to look into this:

Get some good reliable springs in there.

I already have the ls6 springs. I want to run them for 15-20k then change them for something with higher lift. Will they last that long?

They will work fine with the cam, but what heads are you using.

I would go with a good set of springs. It sucks when you get on it and you have that little bit of doubt. Just an uneasy feeling. You should be fine. But just keep that in mind.

I would run a better spring with those valves. A Pac 1218, or 1518 they are both beehive, and fit those heads.
