Default 4.8L iron block

So went and got this book today and says that the 4.8 and 5.3L block can be bored to the 99m for the 5.7L. Can only see this possible on the iron blocks but is it worth doing?

Just bought a 03 4x4 truck that was totaled for $800 and well some is going for scrap because its not useable there is a lot that is and have sold a bunch off it all ready. So in the end the 4.8L will be free and have some cash in my pocket.

But in the end is it worth messing with boring this block out. Its going in a 69 chevy C10 truck?

By the time you pay for boring, honing, crank, rods, pistons, rings, balancing and gaskets, you could have an LQ4 for the same money. Sell the 4.8 to someone who wants a 4.8. Around here, it's worth $200.
