Does anyone sell a tool that will do the removal and install? I found one thread with an install tool. I was kind of looking for one tool or set that will do it all. We have been using a rigged puller on the crank pulley. Figure I might as well buy the right stuff!

Two separate tools...OTC makes the correct puller, it's known as the Chrysler/GM balancer puller. There's a few different places to get an installer, I bought one on this forum many years ago, and dirt track racer 81, who's usually on PT.net, just started offering a real nice istaller...shoot him a PM.

What I figured. We have a puller that has worked fine. Who makes a good installer on here?

I bought Hawk's installer off here a couple years ago. Its a damn nice piece. I dunno if he is still selling them though.

Yea the OTC GM 3 jaw puller with the different size rods works great. As far as an install, just scroll down in the tools/fabrication thread. dirt_track_racer_81 makes a tool, thats the one i used to install my pulley, worked like a charm

Shoot a PM to dirt_track_racer_81 (I might have the spaces wrong in his screen name, but that's the jist of it). He's been making a real nice installer that's a real quality item

Apparently, the dirttrackracer is a spin off of the Hawks tool from a while back which must not be being sold anymore. I have the hawks tool and its badass for sure. I would have to say that dirttrack's slight spin off probably works equally as well.

If you need it faster, in lieu of buying a tool and having it shipped, if you can find a piece of threaded rod local to you somewhere and a few nuts and washers to fit on it you can make your own tool quickly and easily just by putting on the bolts and washers. That is what I ended up doing. The rod should be M16 X 2.0 pitch.

^^^I normally would agree with this post. However, after using my Hawks damn near a dozen times, there truly is no substitute via home depot. I promise you. Its an excellent tool and worth the money.

This is the install tool I bought off a board member that makes them. For removal I bought the OTC unit on E-Bay for $59.00 shipped
