Default ls1 to ls3

When putting an ls3 block ls3 cam with an ls1 crank and ls1 wiring harness what do you do just extend the cam position sensor or do you have to change the rec wheel? I also remember reading somewhere then you extend it mix match two of the wires? Thanks

Default

If you are using the LS1 crank then you should stil have the 24t relucter so that shouldnt change anything, and the cam position sensor wires will need to be extended to the front cover from the back top of the block. The wires that need to be switched are two outter ones, I forget if they are "A" and "C" or 1" and "3" in most cases that will cure the hard starting issues when running the front mounted cam sensor with LS1 computer. Also make sure you get the early LS2 cam gear, it has the proper pick-up on it (but it is a 3 bolt). Also if you are running knock sensors they get moved to the side of the block instead of in the valley cover., and those wires will need to be extended aswell.
