I have a t-rex in my DD 02 z28 M6. The car ran great till the piston hit the valve and broke the lifter. lol. I liked the t-rex for the most part. My car which is basicly stock and made 400 rwhp. and was a great to mess with mustangs in. The main problem i had with the cam that it made no power till 3500 rpm then it would blow off the tires. even running street slicks. I didnt mind the jerk at a low rpm but with 373 my car would jerk sometimes at 60mph+. i got used to it. when i got my motor rebuilt i put a smaller cam in the car. but if i had to do it again, i would put the trex back in it.

I daily drove mine for some time, but it was in a stroker so it may have felt milder. FWIW I talked to Shane at thunder racing and he ground a custom cam for me. I ended up making more peak hp and a ton more torque (over 400rwtq from off idle to 6k) with a 228 intake lobe. You can definitely hear the cam, but it is pretty mild. You may want to consider something that makes more low end power especially with a M6. But either way I really liked the trex. I definitely miss the sound of it. Sounds like the world is coming to an end at WOT.

I just tuned a car with the TREX and 4:56 gears. It drove surprisingly well, but I'm positive the gears had a lot to do with it. I personally wouldn't DD it.
The TREX is also old technology. You can run a much smaller cam with better lobe designs and make more power under the curve without giving up much if anything up top. And it only takes one good misshift to marry a piston to the valve with that cam.
