It has more than 5,000 miles so Mel could never drive it.

The late 80's G-bodies are sweet. Too bad the L69 was so weak, but at least Small Block swaps are easy in those things!

I did an LS-powered 3rd gen Camaro, and it was pretty straightforward, so much so, I thought (for a VERY short time) of yanking the 3.8 Liter Turbo out of my GN and dropping in an L92 from an Escalade or an LS3.

Then I got my sanity back.

I had a 3rd gen with those plans. I still think about it from time to time, though.

My buddy has an '84 White SS that he put a ZZ4 into. You couldn't tell it from a L69 with the exception of the center-bolt rocker covers. It really woke that car up and still passed NJ emissions even with a hollowed-out cat.

Sounds pretty cool, and it's a direct bolt-in. I'd still rather go fuel-injected for mileage and drivability reasons.

I swapped a 4.8 Vortec (LR4) into my '77 Camaro. With my homemade cold-air intake, ported F-body exhaust manifolds, and a custom tune, it ran low 14's and pulled 31 MPG on the street. This was with the factory 2.59 open rear. By no means a race car, but definitely a nice driver.
