To put it in perspective ...

VIR is a one fast freaking track
13hr Enduro ... the V is probably running in ES class.

Enduros are mostly made up of E2s and E3s ... Hondas, Miatas, etc ... which is what he passed.

Mike is a World Challenge and Grand AM driver. Looks kind of like Opie Taylor. ;) Very talented.

In stock trim on street tires, I could hang with C5s on street tire on a road course. But the V is one heavy car ...

Damn...guy can drive.

A black Cadillac CTS-V, piloted by Howard LaFever, touches the gravel trap, but briefly. The car ends up upside-down on the other side of the catch fence and cement barrier. Reports are conflicting -- LaFever allegedly claims no brakes -- but the recipe is obvious: The CTS-V is approaching turn 12, a sharp left, at over 100 mph. It doesn't slow. The car turns, presumably the driver's effort to make the turn, and skips across the gravel trap before going airborne and flipping onto its roof. The damage looks terrifying, but LaFever walks away with just a cut on his finger. Why are you quoting yourself? And what does a non-race-prepped V2 crash months ago during One Lap of America have to do with a guy qualifying a race-prepped V1 at VIR? :confused:
