Default Car Ls1 Intake on 5.3 Truck Engine?

I have a car ls1 intake for my boosted 5.3 motor I am putting together. I understand that I will have to swap out waterpump, balancer along with accessories for it to work.

Now my question is will the balance be ok still using the 5.3 truck engine flexplate with a car ls1 balancer?

arent all ls engines internally balanced?

it will not cause problems. LS engines are internally balanced and the balancer and flexplate are 0 balanced.

I keep bringing up my photobucket to let people know what I did with my water pump and accessories. Check it out. LS1 intake on a 6.0 with truck accessories and water pump.

I like your style. I see you put a freeze plug in where the old pipe was but what did you do to open the port on the front of the waterpump

1 1/4 hole saw, and ground groves in the threaded end of a pipe and used it as a large tap. Once the threads were sufficient, I threaded in a piece of pipe that was the same size of the old tube I removed from the top.

Honestly you don't have to get that creative. All I did was trim the throttle body a bit and it works completely fine. There is a place that sells a 1/2" spacer but I can't remember where I saw it, but that would create the clearance you need as well. I didn't discover the spacer until after I had modified my TB. The swap is over a year old and has over 10K miles of daily abuse on it without issue. You can see photos of my mod on this link or my signature for a link to my complete build topic.

I'm using a custom accessory drive but I needed that to fit the vehicle. I did absolutely nothing to the water pump because if I'm ever stranded 50 miles from a major city all I'll probably have access to is cheap parts store hand tools and I can still repair my car. I'm just not a fan of modding a wear part that may die and can't easily be repaired road side.
