Default NGK plug question

Wondering if anyone has noticed an issue or possible benefit to using TR55-1IX over the standard TR55-IX? The 1IX has an extra ~.100" reach on the threaded section (but not threaded) both are projected tip. The extra 5 is just a factory set gap.

If no-one has tried these (or noticed a difference) I will check reach in a spare head I have kicking around. I want to use the 1IX since the engine isn't going into a vehicle thats going to be driven hard (except towing, problably harder anways, but very rarely) and want the extra projection.

Any thoughts?
