Street Racing & Kill Stories - 02' CETA vs Modified 07' Z06

Video chase car was a stock 07' Z06 and got left a bit behind. The camera is a Go-Pro unit and was at night.

We made about 6 runs and the cooler weather played havoc with traction. Even on this run where we ran 70-160 I (right hand car) spun initially almost coming around on me. Z06 is a 10 sec ride. Good close runs on the 2 clean passes we made last night.

Who won? I can't really tell.

Also racing with other cars around you and getting up to those speeds....

There was one car initially and then wide open road...we let off well before we got to any other traffic. We typically won't even do that, but that one car was not in any peril.

I would jump him a little, but my rev limiter is set at 6200 rpms's right now so he jumped back a bit when we shifted gears since he has a long throw to 7200 rpms. At the end of the 2 clean runs it was almost dead even.

I guess the stock Z06 would get left behind considering it didn't accelerate.

Good runs, impressive car. Any numbers?

GoPro seemed to work decent at night. Much better than the GoPro Wide my friends got. Do agree with not racing with other cars around though: if you had spun abit more you could very easily have stuffed that pickup truck that was just minding his own business in the righthand lane.

.... not that I can say I've never done that myself though: but I would have expected to get shit about it, too. lol

bad valvesprings?? Nope, all is good. The Z06 is a 07' big cam, full exhausts, callaway CAI, tune, running E85 and around 560-580whp. Guy is a good driver. He did a 10.95 @132 yesterday at the track...1.8 60ft.

Me, 6.0, cam, vortech blower, and a bit (50 shot) of gas....was making about 630-650whp that night. My cam is good to 6800 rpms...didn't run it that high..about 6200. Makes about 590whp on motor.

I have debated getting a go-pro but still not completely sold on it....here is a video taken off a truck from our site that was pretty cool though....

I love my Go Pro motorsports kit, but the night video quality sucks. Tried several modes and it leaves a lot to be desired at night. The daytime quality is awesome though. Worth the $ IMO, because you can get some very cool footage with it.

damn that blown 6.0 moves out, i would love to see what my 6.7 would do with some boost....probably just spin the tires :bang:

Well, in a couple months i will be able to tell you what a 6.7L will do as am building one as we speak. Sending the blower back to Vortech to get ported as well. Motor will be 550-570whp and the blower added should make it 725whp + a bit of gas.....:D

Yea, that truck looks like it moves out...like the vids.
